Born in Barranquilla, Colombia to Trinidadian parents, Sabina has never quite belonged to any one particular culture. By the age of ten she had lived in and visited many countries throughout South America. This early transient lifestyle impressed upon her an appreciation for different cultures and a love of travel, which is evident in her work and through her use of bright colors. She is influenced by folk art, sculpture and textiles from around the world, as well as Jungian archetypes, alchemy, mythic and religious imagery. Common themes in her work are our connection to The Divine; whether it be through love, motherhood, nature, or art itself in any form.
